Thing 2

I agree that blogging is a "straightforward and interesting way for students to generate, share and keep up with the timely and topical class information." This sentence really struck me as I was reading through. Some other important points that I would like to add are that I feel that a blog is easy to create and to expalin to younger students. I feel this is something that they could log on and not have a problem with. It would be a way to foster two way communication in the classroom and also be a way to provide students with feedback.
I also wanted to point out that I feel that parents may be opposed to letting students have a blog even if it was just for classroom use. Even though this is the current trend and where technology in the classroom is moving to I still feel that parents of younger students such as my 4th graders would not like the idea. I do however think that if we can at least introduce the word and concepts about blogging that maybe more people would be more accepting.
Blogs could possibly do more than any textbook could do if we try it in our classrooms. It could create a lot of discussion in the students and therefore help students to make further connections.
